Alhamdulillah, the Mustafa Center Youth Summer Camp is in its 4th week and, as per our observation and the feedback from parents, it has been a great success so far. We are blessed to have one of the best teams of highly qualified and experienced teachers who possess the rare blend of sound Islamic education and high levels of secular education. Two of the teachers have memorized the entire Quran and a third will be completing her hifdh of the Quran this year! Four are college graduates and all are continuing their Islamic education at different levels. They are working extremely hard as they are required to present, in advance, each 30-minute period's meticulously-prepared lesson plan every week in addition to doing lots of counseling, monitoring and just trying their best to make this a fun experience for their students.

Our decision to lower the tuition this year (from $495 in 2007 to $200 this year) was based entirely on the rough times the families are facing due to the ongoing economic downturn. We were expecting to fund the school with regular donations at the masjid; however, despite our repeated requests, extra funds have not been forthcoming on Fridays. In short, we are about $9,000 short based on the projected payroll, field trips and other expenses. (Details of the budget can be obtained upon request).

In light of the above, we are in urgent need of your support. Your tax-deductible donation will go a long way in contributing to the MCYSC and help make it an even greater success. Above all, this sadaqah jaariyah will benefit you for decades and centuries to come, inshallah, as the knowledge you help inculcate continues to spread from generation to generation.

Are you tired of your children wasting their whole summer watching TV, playing video games and getting in trouble?

Do you want your youth to learn about their Deen in a fun environment under the guidance of caring, knowledgeable and experienced teachers and counselors?

Do you want your sons and daughters to be prepared for the challenges facing our youth in America?

We are pleased to announce Mustafa Center's 2008 Youth Summer Camp. Last year's camp was a great success and those that took part learned a lot and had lots of fun. We have made many changes to the program in light of the learning experience of last year. The curriculum has been revamped and a team of dedicated, highly educated and experienced teachers has been hired. Best of all, to make this experience more accessible to everyone in the community, the fee for the entire two-month duration of the camp has been reduced from $490 to only $200/per student ($100 for each additional sibling). Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 12pm-6pm:
30 days of Lectures and Activities at Mustafa Center

Thursdays: A total of 10 field trips by bus to fun places and educational activities in the area. Activities include: BBQ/picnics, bowling, laser tag, water balloon competitions, horse back riding, swimming, skating, visits to museums, historical and natural sites and much, much more!!

$200/Student (each additional sibling: $100)
