Education

We offer education for youths and adults. Below you find information pertaining to both and should you have additional questions, feel free to contact us at the Masjid.

Note: All classes are open to men and women, adults and youth, unless otherwise indicated.

Fiqh - Islamic Jurisprudence

Description : This class teaches Fiqh, the Islamic Jurisprudence and law deduced and worked out by the various Schools of Thought (madh-habs, or maz-habs) from the Quran and the Sunnah. The opinions of the Schools are discussed, with concentration of the Hanafi Fiqh, and where appropriate, the evidence is also discussed.

When: Thursdays between maghrib and isha.

Tajweed - Proper Recitation of the Holy Quran

Description: In this class, the proper way of reciting the Noble Qur'an is taught. Basic proficiency in reading the Qur'an is highly recommended. Open to both brothers and sisters.

When: Saturdays 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Arabic Grammar (Sarf and Nahw):

Description: The two main branches of Arabic Grammar, Sarf and Nahw, are taught to those familiar with English grammar and able to recite the Qur'an. Helps in reading and listening skills, in particular in understanding the Qur'an and works in Classical Arabic.

When: Saturdays 8:00 pm

Children & Teenagers Islamic Studies Program

Description: Children and young adults are taught Aqidah, Fiqh and Seerah. The school is currently full but you can place your child's name in a waiting list by sending an email to mustafacenterschool@gmail.com.

When: Satudays 2-5pm.

Qur'an Recitation and Memorization

Description: Children and adults learn how to read the Qur'an at various levels. Memorization is also available for qualified candidates. Indiviudal, one-on-one teaching ensures mastery of Qur'an recitation/memorization.

When: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu (4 nights a week)

6:00pm - 8:00pm

Free Tutoring Program

Free tutoring in all subjects to children of all ages. Individual tutoring sessions are led by qualified teachers who are working professionals and have bachelor's/master's degrees in thier respective fields. Elementary, middle and high school as well as college / university students can benefit from our dedicated volunteers. Walk-in registration.

When: Wednesdays 6-8pm.

Mustafa Center Youth Summer Camp 2008

Duration:
June 23—August 21, 2008

Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 12pm-6pm:
30 days of Lectures and Activities at Mustafa Center

Thursdays: A total of 10 field trips by bus to fun places and educational activities in the area. Activities include: BBQ/picnics, bowling, laser tag, water balloon competitions, horse back riding, swimming, skating, visits to museums, historical and natural sites and much, much more!!

Fee:
$200/Student (each additional sibling: $100)
