For marriage ceremonies follow the following steps:
Register at local city or county court. Inform the court that you intend to perform
a religious (as opposed to civil ) ceremony [See court links at the bottom for details]
Contact the masjid and get the necessary forms to fill out. The fee for officiating a marriage in the masjid is $300. For any location other than masjid, the fee is $400. If a large number of people are invited and food is served in the masjid, the masjid's meeting hall needs to be reserved for which a reservation fee of $50/hour is extrat to the marriage fee.
Bring the court-issued marriage certificate with you to the ceremony.
The groom must be Muslim. The bride can be
Muslim, Christian or Jewish. Islamic Law does
not allow any exceptions.
Islamic Law requires the presence of two witnesses
at the time of marriage. However, the presence
of at least four witnesses from both sides is
highly recommended.
Absolutely no secret marriages, marriages
without court registration or marriages
